Responsible Fibres: Transforming Fashion from the Ground Up

Responsible fibre use is a core focus for The Sussan Group and is shaping how we design and source our products today.

In FY25, 34.07% of our products were made using responsible fibres, up from 24.98% in FY24. This reflects steady progress and a clear commitment to embedding better materials across our ranges.

Responsible fibres are materials sourced and produced with a lower environmental impact, stronger traceability, and better social outcomes. Across the Group, this includes Australian cotton, traceable linen, ECOVERO™ viscose, and recycled materials. These fibres help reduce water use, emissions, and reliance on virgin resources while maintaining the quality our customers expect.

Cotton remains a key focus. Over the past 12 months, we sourced 2,930 metric tonnes, enough to produce more than 16 million t-shirts or 3.5 million pairs of jeans.

Our partnership with Cotton Australia continues to support this work. Since 2019, we have increased our use of locally grown cotton, supporting more than 1,500 farmers, most of them family-owned. Australian cotton delivers strong environmental outcomes, including significantly lower pesticide use, water use and land use, and offers full traceability back to origin.

We are also expanding beyond cotton. Traceable linen has increased from 5.9% to 9.7%, and we continue to increase the use of ECOVERO™ and recycled fibres across our collections.

Replacing conventional fibres with more responsible alternatives is helping reduce our impact while maintaining durability, quality and value for our customers.

We have set clear targets to guide this progress. Responsible fibre use is now embedded in annual planning across all brands, with a Group goal of reaching 50% by FY27.
