Transforming Lives & Empowering Communities
Suzanne Grae has partnered with the Remote Op-Shop Project to donate new clothing to First Nations communities in remote Australia. This initiative supports community-driven op-shops, which generate independent funding for local start-ups and projects, addressing the unique needs of these isolated areas.
Founded by Tanya Egerton in 2016, the Remote Op-Shop Project now collaborates with 30 remote communities across Northern Australia, reaching around 20,000 people. Access to affordable clothing is severely limited in these areas, with prices up to ten times higher than in urban centres.
The donations from Suzanne Grae have significantly improved access to quality apparel for women and girls while promoting sustainability by extending the life of these products. The project empowers women through skill development, employment opportunities, and funding for community initiatives, fostering a solidarity-based approach emphasising self-determination and collective action.
Suzanne Grae has already donated 30 boxes of clothing and continues supporting First Nations women through the Remote Op-Shop Project.
